Neighbors:Compassion is an endeavor to honor the perseverance of people in challenging situations. We invite you to join us as we open our eyes and hearts to the needs of your community. Looking beyond personal circumstance, we offer our available resources to ease the hardships of others. And by digging deeper than the pocketbook, we witness God cultivating the fruits of true empathy and love in our hearts.
The Mission
Our mission is to reintroduce the concept of community, to a culture centered around the individual. We are a growing organization seeking out and training Christians who want to maximize their personal and corporate impact for God′s Kingdom. Our Resources
Aside from socio-economic status, what constitutes our “available resources”? It is true that money and position can go a long way in meeting the needs of others, but they can also short-circuit a far more powerful impact for everyone involved. In a lot of situations it can even be said that what we contribute makes it someone else’s responsibility to see it through, in effect—our “resources” excuse us from further involvement. We reason that we are not properly equipped, and that we are empowering someone who is. Someone, who not only can meet the need, but also has the time required. And they have that time, because it is their job, their purpose—their calling.
So we come to the heart of the matter, in that we recognize the chief resource we possess—are ourselves. Each one of us is equipped in unique ways to come alongside another, and in a humble spirit we give our friendship, skills, talents, abilities and our time. Together with our material means we can now make a profound difference in both the lives of others and our own.
